Vallisaari celebrates its extraordinary nature in 2026 with a photo competition. You’ll find the rules and participation instructions below.
1. The Competition
The Vallisaari Photo Competition is an open competition for Finnish residents (as the prizes cam be redeemed during the 2027 season on the islands). The theme is the nature, history and atmosphere of Vallisaari and Kuninkaansaari. The competition runs from 8 June to 13 September 2026. There are two categories – the general category and the children’s category.
2. General category – how to enter
Anyone can enter the general category. Share your photo on Instagram, use the hashtag #luonnollisinmuoto2026 and tag @vallisaari.fi. Please note that your account must be public during the competition period. You may enter with multiple photos or a photo carousel.
3. Children’s category (under 14) – how to enter
Children can enter their own category in two ways:
On Instagram: Share your photo using the hashtags #luonnollisinmuoto2026 and #lastensarja, and tag @vallisaari.fi. The photo can be posted on the child’s own account or a parent’s account – please note that the account must be public during the competition period.
By email: Send your photo to vallisaari[a]juvashipping.com with the subject line “Luonnollisin muoto 2026 lasten sarja”. Please include the participant’s name and age in the message.
4. Photos and the photographer’s responsibilities
Competition photos must have been taken on Vallisaari or Kuninkaansaari during the competition period, 8 June – 13 September 2026. The photo must be taken by the entrant themselves, and the entrant must hold full rights to the image.
Photo editing is permitted, but all editing must be carried out by the photographer themselves. The use of artificial intelligence in producing or editing the photo is strictly prohibited – the competition photo must be entirely taken and edited by the entrant.
If recognisable individuals appear in the photos, the photographer must have their consent to publish the images.
5. Copyright and usage rights
The copyright of photos remains with the photographer. By entering the competition, the photographer grants Vallisaari the right to share the photos on Vallisaari’s social media channels and to use them in competition communications and marketing.
The best photos will also be selected for a Vallisaari photography exhibition to be displayed on the island during the Biennial year 2027. Photographers whose works are selected for the exhibition will be contacted separately regarding details and any additional usage rights.
6. Prizes

Children’s category – jury selection:
Ice-cream Parlour Paja gift card, €50
Audience favourite (most-liked Instagram post across both categories):
Kuninkaansaari Transformer accommodation for two + Vallisaari guided tour gift card
The jury selects the winners and the decision is final. Winners will be announced in September 2026 on Vallisaari’s website and Instagram account @vallisaari.fi, and will be contacted by direct message to claim their prize.
